Looking Back at FESPO 2025

FESPO 2025 was once more a wonderful opportunity for us and B&B Chesa Staila to present ourselves to a broad audience. As one of the few Swiss exhibitors, we used this Swiss vacation fair strategically to get visitors excited about the huge pluses of staying at a B&B. For example, they're the perfect choice for short breaks, business trips, bike tours or hiking holidays in Switzerland. The response was overwhelming, demonstrating yet again the enormous popularity of authentic, family-style hospitality.

We were thrilled to gain the attention of Swiss public broadcaster SRF, which was also reporting from FESPO. It rightly remarked:

“One destination is virtually absent from this Swiss vacation fair, and that is Switzerland itself!”

Visitors can book vacations to Kenya, Australia, Norway, Iceland or along the North Sea, but why is the Swiss market not represented? How interested are visitors in staycationing in our beautiful country?

Although FESPO mainly attracts people wanting to find out about visiting distant corners of the world, destinations within Switzerland are still popular, especially for short breaks and long weekends.

Jennifer Provoost from BnB Switzerland was one of the few Swiss providers who spoke to SRF reporter Mario Torriani about why a stand at FESPO makes sense – and how important it is to maintain a Swiss tourism presence at local fairs.

B&B Chesa Staila **** La Punt, Engadin

The perfect example of a Swiss presence was to be found in Hall 4, where a stand replicated a lovingly prepared guestroom at the B&B Chesa Staila in La Punt-Chamues-ch (canton Graubünden). Together, we have represented bnb.ch’s private accommodation providers at FESPO since 2018, each year more successfully than the last. Alongside attractive information this almost magical appeal could have something to do with the Graubünden specialties on offer: fresh nut tart from Madulain and Salsiz sausage from La Punt.

Other host families benefit from the attention

The reception to our stands and product gets warmer by the year. Many years ago we were asked why there was any need for us among the enormous competition for B&B accommodation. In the meantime increasing numbers have rediscovered the appeal of hospitality, quality and an authentic experience for themselves. Many were unaware that we have places that cater specially to cyclists, or that dogs are welcome at 170 of our B&Bs.

We were pleased to feature these properties at this year's fair:

Two further providers unfortunately had to cancel at short notice. We hope to be able to showcase them next year.

Our warmest thanks to the hosts who run the above B&Bs for their trust, and for the opportunity to work with them.

Win an overnight stay in a junior suite!

That's exactly what more than 500 visitors to our stand attempted to do by entering competition. In addition to a one-night stay in the junior suite at Chesa Staila there were other great prizes to be won. The full list:

1st prize

One-night stay for two people in the Chesa Staila junior suite, including breakfast, plus a voucher for the GROND Engadin bakery.

2nd prize

A four-course gourmet dinner for two people at the 16 Gault Millau-point Restaurant Krone La Punt, plus a CHF 100 voucher for the Laudenbacher Fleischveredlerei charcuterie.

3rd prize

Two tickets to the Sinfonia Engiadina 2025 and one voucher for two people for a carbon-dioxide balneotherapy session at the Medizinisches Therapiezentrum St. Moritz.

Our lucky FESPO 2025 winners are:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Laudenbacher Fleischveredlerei (voucher) and La Punt Ferien (Sinfonia tickets), the Restaurant Krone La Punt (dinner), the Medizinisches Therapiezentrum St. Moritz (mineral bath voucher) and the GROND Engadin bakery (voucher). And of course the B&B Chesa Staila.

Our impression

FESPO 2025 showed once again that B&B accommodation is a valuable addition to Swiss tourism. The huge interest in our stand, all the people we met, and our positive reception motivate us to continue inspiring visitors in the future with unique and personal places to stay.
